Architecture Analysis

The information architecture is the skeleton of a web site, and if well-planned, it can help a site grow smoothly, allowing information to be added, expanded, and deleted. Without a well-defined architecture, a web site can easily become disorganized, making information difficult to find, and thus frustrating the user.

Through a series of meetings and interviews we can analyze the goals of your site and the needs of your audience. Particular attention should be paid to what information users will look for and how they will look for it. Based on the results these interactions we provide recommendations in the form of a report and a conceptual model of the new architecture. The conceptual model of the proposed architecture also includes link labels, navigation, and search features.

Cost
As part of the University of Michigan, Web Services is a nonprofit organization. Thus, if the actual amount is less than the estimate, you will be billed for only the time spent. Web Services charges are based on staff hourly rates.

The actual cost of a project could be less than or more than the estimate. More time could be required if the scope or complexity changes. If we are approaching the estimated cost, and it is clear that additional time will be required, we will apprise you of the situation, so that we can discuss alternative approaches.
