Security on the Web (and Kerberos)
KPlugin Future
The future of KPlugin is interesting. With the release of Netscape 5.0
as source code, it may be possible to build a more complete solution to
existing security problems into the Netscape 5.0 client, and to set up
an alternative to Netscape 5.0 that will work with future versions of
Internet Explorer with something similar to the original KLP model.
Experimental work on this idea was going on,
but seems to have stalled with the success and acceptance on campus of
the existing Private Webspace model.
There is another option on the horizon, though.
