Research Fellow (GWAS discovery)
The focus of The Willer Lab is the study of cardiovascular genetics. Our lab uses a variety of approaches to yield biological insight into the underlying causes of cardiovascular disease and to better estimate the risk of cardiovascular disease using genetic information. These approaches include the development of new statistical analysis methods, meta-analysis across cohorts, and the downstream analysis of existing GWAS data. Our group is extremely collaborative both through formal participation in consortia and through informal collaborations with medical professionals and experimental groups worldwide. We are looking for an individual who has a strong background in machine learning, programming languages, and statistical methods.

  • Doctoral Degree required
  • Proficient in R, Python, C++ etc.
  • Existing knowledge of cardiovascular disease and human genetics
  • Ability to work with large, complex data sets
  • Expected to write portions of research proposals or manuscripts while also acting as a liaison with external collaborators to acquire data and to share research information
  • Expected to make formal presentations of research findings and to take a leadership position and make decisions about the direction of the research work

Research Fellow (RNA)
The focus of The Willer Lab is the study of cardiovascular genetics. Our lab uses a variety of approaches to yield biological insight into the underlying causes of cardiovascular disease. These approaches include the development of new statistical analysis methods, meta-analysis across cohorts, and the downstream analysis of existing GWAS data. Our group is extremely collaborative both through formal participation in consortia and through informal collaborations with medical professionals and experimental groups worldwide. We are looking for an individual who has a strong background in machine learning, programming languages, and statistical methods. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in analyzing bulk/single cell RNA/epigenomic datasets and interested in integrating such datasets with GWAS to generate mechanistic understanding of cardiovascular disease biology.
