        In 1996, half-samples were randomly selected for each set of questions
        F1-F4, H1-H1b, and the D30/S30 series. Affected variables in the
        Cumulative Data File are VCF0875, VCF9012 (from series F1-F4) and
        VCF0501 (from series H1-H1b).  No variables from the question set
        D30/S30 are in the Cumulative Data File [D30/S30 note: the same set of
        questions were administered either earlier or later in the 1996 Post
        interview; D30 identification indicates earlier administration and S30
        identification indicates administration later in the interview].

        In 2000, respondents were randomly selected to be administered Clinton
        traits and affects in either the Pre or the Post (note: when not
        administered, a Clinton retrospective was administered instead).
        Affected Cumulative Data File variables are VCF0880-881, VCF0338,
        VCF0342-349. Also, respondents not administered section E in the Pre
        were administered Post section H.
