Hello. My name is XX, and I am calling because you have been randomly chosen to participate in a pre-election survey of Cornell students. The purpose of this voluntary survey is to understand students' political opinions and your participation is vital. The survey is sponsored by the Cornell Department of Government, and the results will be released only as percentages. I promise that this survey will only take a few minutes of your time.

If this sounds OK, I'd like to ask you a few introductory questions.

Keep in mind that if we should come to any question which you don't want to answer, just let me know and we'll go on to the next question.
