Shelby has played lacrosse for 7 years prior to joining the Wolverines this season. She was a 3-sport varsity athlete, and 2-time captain at Algonquin Regional in Southborough, MA, playing Basketball and running Cross Country, in addition to playing lacrosse. Wagner was named MVP and Most-Improved on the XC team, and was a team captain on both the cross country team as well as the lacrosse team. Wagner was also member of the NESLL club lacrosse team. Sister, Kasey, plays lacrosse at Brown University.
Shelby is excited to be a part of this year's Michigan Women's Lacrosse Team and is especially looking forward to making it to Nationals this year. She is an extremely talented midfielder who will be a great strength in the transition game, and will go a long way in helping the Wolverines replace 2 graduating senior captains in the midfield from last year's team. She is a formidable player who is among the tallest on the team, and is a great target for goalie clears as well as for feeding in the attacking end. Wagner is an enthusiastic player who has great leadership qualities from her experiences in high school. The team looks to see Shelby make great contributions as a freshman this year. Shelby is a member of the Delta, Delta, Delta sorority and is undecided as to her major at Michigan, but is leaning towards pre-Med.
