Saturday March 28:
The team woke up early and headed out to the fields for an 8:30am game versus
10th ranked BYU. We started out strong and maintained a lead
throughout the entirety of the game. With 10 minutes left in the first half, we
experienced a short delay due to a thick layer of fog that prevented teammates,
coaches and referees from seeing anything that was going on. Although it was
freezing, tough defense and goals from several different players lead to an 8-5
victory. Our second game of the day was against Colorado State. The scoring
alternated during the first half, and we were down by a score of 6-4 at the
intermission. We were able to come back from a three goal deficit in the second
half to tie the game, but were unable to finish out ahead. The final score was
9-7 for CSU, but the team showed that we can still compete with the best and
come back from being down at critical times. We know these are teams that we’ll
see again if we hope to fulfill our ultimate goal of winning a national
championship.
