Santa Barbara, Calif. -- Colorado St. (3-1) jumped ahead early and withstood Michigan's (0-4) second-half comeback to come away with a 12-8 victory.

CSU scored the first four goals of the contest before senior Amy Johnson (Washington, D.C./Holton-Arms) scored on a one-timer from freshman Sam Zetlin (Framingham, Mass./Framingham) to cut the deficit to three.

The Wolverines were dealt a blow when junior tri-captain Britt Boehm (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) was kicked out of the game after collecting her second yellow card for a check to the head.

The Rams then scored three goals in the final minute of the first half to take a 7-1 lead into the break.

Michigan started the second half scoring back-to-back goals to get within four at 7-3. After the Wolverines controlled the opening-draw, freshman Ani Shekerjian (Bloomfield, Mich./Detroit Country Day) received a feed from Zetlin in front of the net and beat the keeper top-right corner for her fifth goal of the season.

Arielle Dyner (Livingston, N.J./Livingston) added a tally on a free-position bounce shot, shooting sidearm off the whistle.

After a CSU goal pushed the score to 8-3, Michigan rattled off another pair of goals. First junior Jess Stanley (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Marian) scored on a bounce shot and then Zetlin picked up her first of three goals for the game on a free-position.

CSU responded with another marker to make the score 9-5 but Michigan kept on fighting, as Zetlin scored two-straight goals to complete the hat-trick.

Two goals would be as close as the Wolverines could get. The Rams picked up goals 10 and 11 to put the game out of reach.

Johnson's 8-meter bounce shot wrapped of Michigan's scoring with 2:00 to go.

Michigan will host Toledo for its first WCLL Conference game Sunday, February 21 at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse in Ann Arbor.
