Event: Women's Lacrosse Site: Ann Arbor, Michigan (Oosterbaan Fieldhouse) Score: #6 Michigan 14, #23 Rhode Island 4 ---- #6 Michigan 13, Air Force 8 Record: U-M (10-2, 3-0 WCLA) Next U-M Game: Michigan Invitational Tournament - March 8-11 - Ann Arbor, Michigan (Oosterbaan Fieldhouse) Michigan Rolls En-Route to Two More Wins Ann Arbor, Michigan • The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team earned two more victories on Saturday (March 10) in Ann Arbor, Michigan at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse in the second day of the Michigan Invitational. Michigan defeated Rhode Island by a score of 14-4 in their first game before dispatching Air Force, 13-8 in their second game of the day. Versus Rhode Island, Michigan went on a 10-0 run to open the game that carried on five minutes into the second half and featured six different goal scorers. The Rams scored their first goal at 17:55 of the second half, but Michigan wasn't about to let up, and notched four more goals before the final buzzer. Michigan was led by sophomore Alexis Pavle who notched three goals. Fellow sophomore Rachel Lary was also impressive, earning six draw controls and scooping up seven groundballs. Freshman goaltender Liz Mennen recorded five saves in the contest. Air Force Recap Coming Soon... The Maize and Blue will be back in action Sunday morning, when they battle Wisconsin in the final game of the Invitational at 11:00am in Ann Arbor, Michigan at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse.
