The University Lowbrow Astronomers Photo Album
Saturday Morning Physics (March and April 2005)
During the fall and winter, the University of Michigan Physics Department hosts
a series of multimedia presentations called Saturday Morning Physics.
These presentations are aimed at the general public. Generally you can
find several Lowbrows in attendance. (The Lowbrows are an amateur astronomy
club based in Ann Arbor). The following photographs were taken in March and April 2005, all during Saturday Morning Physics.
March 12: Fred Adams gave a talk entited “Cosmic Genesis: How Physics Drives the Structure of the Universe.”
March 19: Timothy McKay gave a talk entitled “How Do We Know the Big Bang Really Happened? Early Evidence.”
March 19: After Timothy McKay’s talk, Warren Smith was kind enough to give a few Lowbrows a tour of the equipment room for the Saturday Morning Physics demonstrations.
April 9: John Monnier gave a talk entitled “The Quest to Discover New ‘Earths.’ ”
April 16: Timothy Chupp gave a talk entitled “Solar Neutrinos.”
