Aurora of November 7, 2004
by Doug Scobel
On the evening of Sunday, November 7, much of the northeastern United
States was treated to a nice display of the Aurora Borealis, otherwise
known as the northern lights. These are some photos I took of the event
from my neighborhood just south of Ann Arbor. To the naked eye, green
was the predominant color, with pale red mixed in. I had Kodak scan the
negatives onto a CD and then digitally processed them to bring out the
colors. All images were taken with my Olympus OM-1, 28mm lens, 30
seconds at f/2.8, and post-processed using Paint Shop Pro.
