This course is intended to be a general overview of the contemporary study of personality and its theoretical background. Great emphasis will be placed on familiarizing the student with current research and theory on specific personality topics. Examples of topics covered in this class are: personality units (motives and goals, traits and temperament, and cognitions), social-environmental determinants of personality, personality development, personality assessment, self-concept and self-esteem, emotion and coping, and cultural personality psychology (e.g., bicultural identity, cultural differences in personality traits, etc.).

 

 

VERY IMPORTANT: Be aware that make-up exams will not be given in this class. Therefore, if you foresee a conflict with any of the exam dates, DO NOT ENROLL IN THIS CLASS!!
