The 2006 Black Forest Star Party, BFSP Talks

The Black Forest Star Party is held once a year in Northern Pennsylvania. In 2006 a number of Lowbrows attended.

On Saturday, there were are series of astronomy talks.

The first talk was given by Lowbrow Mark Deprest and was entitled “A Chariot, A Plough, A Big Dipper or A Great Bear: The Myths and Stories of the Night Sky.”

The keynote speaker was Sue French, who gave the talk “Obscure Sights for Black Forest Nights.” Sue French posed with Lowbrows Charlie Nielsen and Dave Snyder, see below. (There were four other talks, not shown here).

Immediately after the talks, door prizes were awarded. The Lowbrows were lucky this year, three Lowbrows won prizes (shown below).
