Assignment

For this assignment you will design and produce web pages using Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. Dreamweaver is a professional HTML editor for designing, coding, and developing websites, web pages, and web applications.

The visual editing features in Dreamweaver let you quickly create pages without writing a line of code.

Dreamweaver is fully customizable. You can create your own objects and commands, modify keyboard shortcuts, and even write JavaScript code to extend Dreamweaver capabilities.

You will create an electronic resume that you will post on your home space. Your resume needs to contain the following topic elements:

  1. Name, address, other personal information you want to give

  2. Objective

  3. Education

  4. Relevant course work

  5. Employment experience

  6. College employment

  7. Membership in professional organizations

  8. Community service experience

  9. Honors and awards

  10. Skills and specialties

You presentation needs to include the following:

  1. At least one (or more) link to a second page

  2. Hyperlink to your email address

  3. Hyperlink to one other page referenced in your resume (e.g., organization, school, etc.)

  4. One graphic element

  5. Imported text

To complete the assignment, do the following:

  1. Up-load your resume to your home space using DreamWeavers’ built-in FTP engine or use another FTP program.

  2. E-mail your MVS110 instructor and give the path to your electronic resume so he/she can visit and observe your work.

  3. Print off a copy of your web page and hand it in to your MVS110 instructor.

Grading Guidelines

Received e-mail with link to (path) to web page in message

Received print copy of web resume (min 2 pages)

2 pts

View web page in browser:

  1. 2 or more pages presented

  2. hyperlink to e-mail address

  3. hyperlink to second (or more) pages within resume

  4. hyperlink to a page not within resume (another web page)

  5. 1 graphic element

  6. Evaluation of resume (is the resume presentable (yes/no)
