Session #6 - Presenting Data Effectively

In Class Objectives

During this session you will learn how-to do the following:

  • Enter information onto slides

  • Insert graphics to illustrate your slides

  • Animate your slides

  • Format text, bullets, and the background of slides

  • Arrange slides for a slide show

  • Print different presentation layouts

Assignment

For this assignment you will produce a PowerPoint slide presentation based on research you do. Choose a topic from the several examples given below. Search the World Wide Web and the research literature (using tools you learned in assignment #3) for information about the topic. Based on your searches and reading of the material you are to produce a PowerPoint (.ppt) slide presentation that contains seven (7) slides, each with a title or major heading:
  1. Title slide with the title of your topic and a graphic (i.e., picture) representative of the topic.
  2. Interesting facts about the topic.
  3. Interesting facts about the topic.
  4. Interesting facts about the topic.
  5. Listing of 10 web sites of interest about this topic.
  6. Listing of a minimum of 3 research articles dealing with your topic .
  7. Summary slide.

You presentation needs to include the following:
  1. One hyperlink
  2. Two pictures or graphic elements
  3. Common slide theme
  4. Slides with different backgrounds
  5. Slides with different type colors

E-mail your MVS110 instructor with an attachment that contains your presentation. Also, print out a copy of the presentation in notes format (4 slides to a page) and turn it in to your instructor.

  10. Role of exercise in preventions of osteoporosis
