About Gamma Pi
The Gamma Pi Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega was founded on the University of Michigan campus in 1940. In 1976, women were allowed to pledge and become active members within the fraternity. Service projects have changed from year to year. Some early Gamma Pi projects included giving campus tours, counting ballots, staffing the Michigan Union and ushering at campus events. One project that has been maintained throughout the years is the blood drive competition with Ohio State and Michigan State. Our chapter is led by the following amazing people:
President
Brandon

- Why you love APO: APO has provided me with various opportunities to surround myself with constant sources of empowerment. Being active in APO has helped me transform from an introvert that was always hesitant to speak his truth to someone that speaks his vision into reality with people that genuinely support my hopes for the future of APO and the world. APO is a consistent reminder of what I am passionate about, the happiness and care of all people!
- What does the President do? I facilitate Chapter and Executive Board meetings and implement changes based on Brother needs and wants!
VP of External Service

- Why you love APO: The service program in APO is unlike anything else on campus, and the opportunities for meaningful, direct service in our communities is endless. We have so many diverse projects, so whether you are interested in working with kids, animals, or nature (to name a few), there will definitely be something you are passionate about!
- What does this VP do? I oversee all of the service projects occurring off campus!
VP of Internal Service

- Why you love APO: I have always been passionate about service and I loved being able to continue to have it be a huge priority in my life at college. This organization has given me great opportunities with service, but also lifelong friends! There’s something for everyone in this org and that sets it apart from nearly everything else on campus!
- What does this VP do? I oversee all of our service events on campus!
VP of Membership

- Why you love APO: The community within APO has continued to grow and serve as one of my favorite places to be, whether I’m doing a service project with one of my good friends or someone I just met. The opportunities for leadership development and service are diverse and plenty, leading to a desire to challenge yourself and try new things. APO continues to encapsulate the three pillars through each and every activity and opportunity provided, and proves how they are all crucial to each other.
- What does this VP do? I'm responsible for the growth and retention of members.

- Why you love APO: APO has been one of the greatest communities to be a part of here at Michigan! There’s a spot for everyone, and I want other brothers to experience the opportunities and support that I have had!
- What does this VP do? I work with chairs to create engaging events for members to form friendships and construct a strong community.
VP of Finance

- Why you love APO: There’s something for everyone in APO. It’s a diverse and inclusive community of passionate and lovable people who are just trying to make a difference in the world. It makes me want to be a better person.
- What does this VP do? I handle the chapter's finances and reimburse APO-sponsored expenses.

- Why you love APO: I have met some of the best people I know in APO. I feel so at home with everyone, and I’m encouraged to be the best person I can be. So many people in APO have served me as mentors and great friends. APO has presented me with a number of opportunities to learn more about empathy, selflessness and serving others.
- What does this VP do? My position revolves around the pledges. I guide them from their initiation through their activation, answering questions about their requirements and helping them navigate their new organization.

- What does this VP do? I oversee the social media pages, the newsletter, and uphold our alumni relations

- Prior Positions: Family Head, Outside Hours Chair
- Why you love APO: APO has not only introduced me to some of my closest friends, but has also allowed me to grow as a person and leader. At a university of over 25,000 students, APO has given me a supportive and welcoming community where I can be myself and feel like I have a voice, while also serving the community.
- What does this VP do? I handle a lot of the logistics for our fraternity -- this includes booking rooms, collecting your feedback, teaching brothers about our bylaws, and managing the daily newsletter!
