Total Synthesis of (±)-Haouamine A

Molecule 3 is an important precursor in the synthesis of (±)-Haouamine A1. In attempting to synthesize this molecule, the researchers made use of many synthetic pathways commonly used in organic chemistry. They also exploited the uncommon use of Indium metal as a reducing agent for hydroxylamines.
