Loose snow avalanches are common where snow conditions seem stable, such as on steeper slopes.  Characterized by a powder cloud or a hissing noise, be careful because the soft snow becomes very heavy as it moves into an avalanche.  This type of avalanche is common to appear in a teardrop shape.
