Welcome~

You have gained access to our secret lair’s online database. That can only mean two things: 1: We have selected you OR 2: You’re in W2014 Chem215H. Either way here is a little crash course on your favorite rulers of the world - look around and be ready for a quiz! Warning - anything less than a 100% on the quiz turns into automatic rejection from our people and a return to the common world. Realize of course, that as directors in this group, we must ensure that only the strongest help us to lead because world manipulation (I mean DOMINATION!) is nothing without the best! So learn your material and welcome to THE NEW WORLD ORDER!!

P.S.: Quiz material below.

Variation of Van-Leusen Three Component Imidazole Synthesis Reaction: Molecule 24 to Molecule 25
Su, S.; Rodriguez, R. A.; Baran, P. S. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2011, 133, 13922-13925.

This mechanism is step 10 of the synthesis of ±Axinellamines A and B. Ultimately, this step is a variation of the van-leusen imidazole synthesis reaction. Once compound 24 is treated with trifluoracetic acid in the presence of water to form intermediate 6, intermediate 6 is then reacted with cyanamide at a pH of 5.5 in brine to form compound 25This conversion of Compound 24 to Compound 25 consists of 10 steps in and of itself (8 steps to get to intermediate 6 and then 2 more steps to from compound 25).
