YOU CAN HELP TOO!!
So, now that you have seen the problems and possible solutions that
other people have thought about, check out what you can do in your daily
life to help the environment...
- Recycle everything you can: glass, plastic, cans, aluminum
containers, newspapers, scrap metal...ect
- Save bottles and jars after use for storing small household
items
- Turn off the lights, TV, computer and radios when you're out of
the room or not home.
- Wait until you have a full load of laundry or a full dishwasher
before using.
- Whenever possible use public transit, ride your bike, walk or car
pool.
- Use small paper for small memos.
- Use the Stairs
- Avoid buying anything disposable : paper plates and
towels, styrofoam.
- Buy locally grown food and locally made products when possible. This
saves transportation, fuel and reduces packaging
- Support your local Co-ops (Peoples Food and Wild Flower)
- Don't use electrical appliances for things you can easily do by hand.
- Place a brick or plastic bottle in your toilet to lower water
consumption.
- Feed the birds
- Don't pick the flowers
- Try a new vegetarian meal every week.
- Volunteer! Plant a tree, make your garden pleasing to the eye,
help a stranger. The possibilities are endless...
Remember that only you can make the difference! These previous actions
will not save the world, but they will make the world a much nice place
to live and can greatly improve the quality of your life and the lives of
those around you!
