Physicists on hunt for the Higgs boson

The Higgs boson remains a primary target of searches at both the Tevatron and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Recent rapid progress at the Tevatron has led to important new limits on the allowed mass range for the Higgs boson. If the Tevatron and its detectors continue to run well they are expected to have sensitivity to a Standard Model Higgs boson over its entire phenomenologically allowed mass range within three years. This progress, coupled with the imminent data from the LHC makes it the perfect time to address theoretical and experimental issues surrounding the phenomenology of the Higgs boson.

It is a time to take stock: What questions remain to be answered in order to make maximum use of valuable data? How can experimentalists communicate their results effectively with the theoretical community? How can theorists most effectively give input to experiment? These questions should be addressed both in the context of the Standard Model and beyond.

The workshop will run from Thursday May 13-- through noon on Saturday May 15, with a welcome reception on the evening of May12th. There will be time left available for discussion each day.
