Alendy lives with his mother, Sofia, who works as a housewife, his father Alejandro, who is a peasant farmer, and his brother, Alejandro.

Alendy is an active boy who spends most of his time with his best friends Angel and Riqui. He is too young to attend school yet and livesi n a cement house under a corrugated metal roof. His housing conditions are poor with indecent hygiene.

Alendy's community suffers from lack of access to clean, safe drinking water. The Child Protection Law was enacted in order to help the area's child labor force. Health is obviously a large concern, with the nearest health facility nearly 40 minutes away.
