Chawanangwa Nkhambule
  Musipazi, Malawi
Female
12/12/1993

Chawanangwa lives with her mother and two brothers in a small house made of unfired mud bricks with a straw roof; her family is lucky to have a private latrine.  Women in Chawanangwa’s community start their day off as early as 4 a.m. and end their evenings early since the the only lighting available in their village are kerosene lamps.  A day’s work is usually in the gardens in order to provide for food in their family.  Chawanangwa aspires to be a nurse and says “when I complete school in the future, I will not reverse my decision of becoming a nurse.”
