Giyani is an intelligent boy who lives with his parents and two younger brothers. His school is 45 minutes away by foot. His favorite subjects are math, local language, and music. When he is not studying, he plays with his friends and help out with chores such as collecting firewood and taking care of his younger siblings. Giyani wants to become a policeman once he grows up.

Diseases and parasites are an ongoing problem for the people in the community. Local schools and hospitals try their best to screen diseases and de-worming for children. Malnutrition and lack of clean water are also challenges in the community. Plan has invested a significant amount of effort to alleviate these problems.
