Waris lives with his mother who works as a laborer.  He likes to play cricket very much.  His aspiration is to become a doctor someday.  At school, he looks forward most to his local language lesson, Punjabi.  However, he has recently stopped going to school because in this society, children often help support the family by helping at home or going out to earn some additional money.

  • Waris’ family still use an open field or public area for their toilet facilities, which is cause of a low hygiene level.

  • Pests and diseases often ravage crops, the community’s main source of income and employment.  Training and skills are currently being developed to help farmers protect their crops.
