We are looking for the PSO CORE 2003-2004, email pso.core@umich.edu for an application! Applications will be taken until late August. Interviews in EARLY September are gauranteed with reciept of application. Hope to hear from you! Check out the position descriptions below...

1) Chair
- Schedules and runs meetings
- Serves as a role model for other officers and members
- Responsible for keeping a calendar of all PSO events and all PSO-affiliated events
- Person "in charge", responsible for supervising/overseeing the work of the other officers and ensuring that they function together as an effective team
- Delegating responsibility to Core members as needed
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu, pso.members@umich.edu, pso.info@umich.edu
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs.

2) Vice-Chair of Finance
- Establishes budget per semester for PSO and ensures that it's followed during planning and logistics of events
- Records and pays bills/reimbursements and deposits/withdraws funds by working closely with Student Organization Accounts Service (SOAS)
- Keeping track of dues ($5.00) and database of paying membership
- Responsible for writing, submitting, and following up on all funding grant proposals (per semester), including but not just MSA-BPC and LSA-SG. Also responsible for obtaining approval of proposals from rest of Core.
- In charge of finding new and innovative methods of obtaining funds for PSO
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs.

3) Vice-Chair Internal
- Programming position that manages internal events.
- An Internal Event is defined as a member oriented event, usually socially geared, that helps to build a stronger community within the Punjabi Student Organization. These events do not necessarily need to be related to Punjabi culture, but rather a medium to strengthen the ties between the people within the PSO. Here is a sample of the events to be planned:
o PSO Mass Meeting (beginning of Fall semester)
o Raja Rani Buffet Outings
o PSO Core Retreats (one per semester)
o Bowling nights
o PSO Coffee Breaks
o Group studying
o Bollywood movie nights
- Planning new and innovative projects and events that further PSO mission and vision on campus
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu, pso.members@umich.edu
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs.

4) Vice-Chair External
- Programming position that manages external events.
- An External Event is defined as an event that promotes Punjabi culture awareness, education and general visibility to the entire campus community; these events are usually related to Punjabi culture. Here is a sample of the events to be planned:
o Bhangra Night (one per semester)
o Collabrative Event with another Student Organization
o PSO/PSA Charity Formal (Joint event with the Pakistani Student Association)
o Bhangra on the Diag
- Planning new and innovative projects and events that further the PSO mission statement and vision on campus.
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu, pso.info@umich.edu
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs.

5) Vice-Chair Technology
- In charge of maintaining, updating and improving PSO website
- Responsible for maintaining and updating all PSO email lists
(pso.core@umich.edu, pso.members@umich.edu, pso.info@umich.edu)
- Answering any questions that are directed from the website, or responsible for forward them to the appropriate party.
- Assume general responsibilities as Webmaster of the site
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu, audience via Website
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs

6) UAAO Representative
- Act as a liaison, voting member and representative between PSO and the Asian Pacific American Umbrella Organization: UAAO (United Asian American Organizations)
- Read, understand and abide by the Constitution, procedures and Bylaws of UAAO (http://www.umich.edu/~uaao/ ), including attending at least 75% UAAO meetings
- Helping in building the Punjabi Student Organization VISION for 2003-2004
- Basic audience/interaction: pso.core@umich.edu
- Attending core, committee and general meetings, and all PSO events and programs.

7) Core Member
- 1-4 vital members of the Punjabi Student Organization with voting rights within the Core
- In charge of Promotion, almost like a Promotion Committee. Major responsibilities with Flyer Design, promotion and flyer distributing organization as far as which members are covering what extent of campus with flyers. Also, organizing flyering nights closer to events to promote the event in question throughout campus.
- Delegated responsibilities near and during events that are unique and specific to the nature of the events that PSO is presenting.
