POLICIES:  Grades reflect the quantity and quality of work carried out by each student. It is possible for all students to receive As. During the course of the term, there will be multiple ways to accumulate points toward your final grade. These include weekly homework assignments, book reports, several group reports, a class journal, and both take home and in class final exams. No specific assignment or exam is required; therefore, under no circumstances will there be makeup exams. While class attendance does not directly count towards students' grades, regular class attendance is encouraged. In order to complete homework assignments, students must be present when the homework is assigned, as well as when it is discussed and. Attendance also tends to be correlated positively with exam grades. Therefore, regular class attendance is likely to increase the probability that a student will obtain a good grade.
