Do I have to compete in order to be on the team?
No. Actually only a handful of our team members participate in competitions... this is entirely up to you.

I am more of a wakeskater or wakesurfer, can I join the team and do that instead?

Absolutely! We have a wakeboarding boat that can be used for wakesurfing and wakeskating also. All you need is to contact us and get out on the water.

How long is your season?

Our season runs from about the time the ice covering our lake melts to about the time it freezes over again. As far as competitions go, we'll be participating in a variety of local competitions through the summer, and the intercollegiate season is during the fall semester.

As a team member, how often will I be able to wakeboard/wakeskate?
During this past fall, we were able to accommodate everyone 2-3 times per week. In the summer, scheduling was a bit more open and you may be able to do more than that if wanted.

I have only wakeboarded once or twice.... can I still join?

Regardless of skill level, we encourage anyone who has an interest in watersports to join our team. While we have many talented riders and are all improving fast, we are definitely not an expert-only team. In fact, we have quite a few members who had never wakeboarded before joining. So please do not feel intimidated... we are all here to learn from each other.

What over expenses can I expect as a team member?
Apart from the expenses outlined in the Joining section, the only other necessary expense will be gas money. For the sake of simplicity and fairness, gas for the boat is not included as part of your dues. Other optional expenses include personal equipment purchases, tournament costs and team trips.

I don't have a wakeboard... will the team provide one?

While the team does not directly provide equipment, we do have a variety of discounts (outlined in the Benefits section) available to all team members seeking to purchase their own. Additionally, most of us are willing to let anyone borrow our equipment. When you schedule practices, all you need to do is to let the secretary know that you do not have your own equipment.
