I am testing the Packet Engines G-NIC II 1000Base-SX
cards using the latest non-pre release asun version of
netatalk with a new G3 Mac. The performance is VERY
high, but I can only access the server by entering the IP
address and nbplkup does not return the Macintosh as
being on the network.

I am out of ideas trying to resolve this and would appreciate
some suggestions.
