Suvarna Gunashekar - PresidentSuvarna is a third year student and is originally from Fort Wayne, IN. She is a Sociology major with a minor in French and plans on choosing a career in which she can somehow help people. For fun, Suvarna enjoys playing volleyball and taking part in community service. She also works in the media services department here at the university. ------------------------------------------------ Dipika Patel - Vice PresidentDipika is originally from the city of Chicago and is a third year, pre-med student with a History major and a Biology minor. After graduation she hopes to attend medical school, and eventually become a doctor, although she is not sure what particular field she wants to specialize in. Dipika enjoys reading whenever she gets the chance, getting involved in the community, and spending time with family and friends whenever possible. ------------------------------------------------ Preethi Thiyagarajan - Treasurer and External ChairPreethi is a third year student originally from Singapore. She is majoring in molecular cellular and developmental biology and plans on either getting a job in the pharmaceutical industry or getting involved in research. In her spare time, Preethi enjoys traveling, hanging out with friends, volunteering, and playing or watching sports, especially tennis. She is also a representative on the Multicultural Greek Council and is involved in UROP. ------------------------------------------------ Tulika Jhunjhnuwala - External Chair, Historian, and WebmistressTulika is a native of Auckland, New Zealand and is a second semester junior. She is majoring in Economics with a minor in Asian Languages and plans on working in a consumer products company after graduating. For fun, Tulika enjoys reading, volunteer work, and watching rugby. She is also a representative on the Multicultural Greek Council for the sorority and President of International Student Volunteers here at the university. ------------------------------------------------ Sejal Tailor - Internal ChairSejal is in her third year at the university and is majoring in materials science and engineering and plans on going to graduate school for biomedical engineering or nanotechnology after graduating. Eventually, she hopes to work in a cosmetics company. Sejal is originally from Carrollton, TX and loves traveling, taking pictures, dancing, collecting postcards, and Hindi movies. She is also president of the Multicultural Greek Council. ------------------------------------------------ Tanisha Govil - SecretaryTanisha is currently a junior majoring in Psychology and minoring in Economics. She lives in Essex, Vermont, and hopes to end up working in Human Resources. In her spare time, Tanisha loves traveling, volunteering, being with kids, and dancing. She is currently a part of Taal, an Indian dance team, as well as the Indian American Student Association (IASA), in which she is part of their Community Service Core and a choreographer for the annual IASA show. ------------------------------------------------ Nikita Vardya - Pledge TrainerNikita is a freshman from Novi, Michigan who is still undecided about her major. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching football, playing the flute, and dancing. She is a part of Maya, an Indian Classical Dance team, and is participating in U of M's Dance Marathon. Other organizations she is involved in at the university include the Indian American Student Association, the South Asian Awareness Network, and the Indian Classical Music and Dance group. ------------------------------------------------ Tasha Vardya - Pledge TrainerTasha is a second year majoring in Economics and minoring in Biology. After graduating, she plans on pursuing a career in medicine or health administration. Her passions include dancing, singing, football, traveling, and spending precious time with friends and family. She is currently on the University of Michigan Raas Team, Secretary of the Indian American Student Association, and involved in several other activities such as Developmental Psychology Research.
