A Letter from the Editors

We would like to dedicate this issue of our magazine Rebel to all of the rebel women of the Eighteenth Century England. These women role models went against the norm, faced obstacles, and lived their for themselves and no one else. This month we celebrate rebels of a bygone era.

We have also been receiving a lot of reader mail with questions about our magazine title. To clear up any confusion, we would like to say that the word rebel is a positive, not a negative word. Our rebel woman is any female who does not fit the status quo. For the purposes of this issue, a rebel is a woman who was not necessarily married, white, or a mother.

Enjoy the latest issue of Rebel! We hope you have as much fun reading as we had putting it together.
