Santa Barbara, CA- After suffering a loss the previous evening to a tough Georgia team, the Wolverines wanted a win badly but knew it would be difficult against a talented team like UC-Santa Barbara (UCSB).
The Gauchos scored first in the contest; but the two teams traded goals throughout the first half. UCSB was able to take an 8-5 lead into halftime. The Wolverines knew if they were able to clean up some mistakes and played with a great deal of intensity they would manage to pull off a comeback and win the game.
In the second half Michigan outscored UCSB 6-2 with great defensive pressure and supreme offensive execution. The Wolverines showed excellent teamwork and communication as they pulled together to play arguably their best half of lacrosse this season thus far. In the end it was the will to win that guided Michigan to a much enjoyed win in a game that was fought tooth and nail.
