The Oakland game time on Tuesday (2/7/12) has been changed to 8pm (was 9pm):

Admission is free! Come support the Wolverines in their first official game of the 2012 season!!!

Spring practice has begun for the 2012 season:

The Wolverines picked up where they left off after fall ball, and have begun practice for the spring season. The team looks great and they're all excited for the upcoming clinic on Feb. 5th, with their home opener (scrimmage) against Adrian College, following at 1:30pm (on Feb. 5th). Come see the team in action for the first outing in 2012! Admission is FREE!

Game Results from "Best of the Midwest" at Adrian College:

The Wolverines wrapped up their fall-ball season with another solid showing, improving their fall-record to 8-2. Game results included a close 5-6 loss to Denison, a solid 11-6 win over Indiana Tech, a tough loss to host Adrian (5-8), and a strong finish over Tiffin University, winning 10-5.

Upcoming games on Sunday, October 23rd at Adrian College:

The women travel this weekend to Adrian, MI, to play 4 games against mixed competition including NAIA, DIII, and DII teams. All games will be played on the grass fields, adjacent to the Baseball complex on the campus of Adrian (campus map).

Michigan opens the day against DIII Denison at 10 am, then plays again at noon vs. NAIA Indiana Tech. After another short hour break, the Wolverines face host Adrian (DIII) at 2pm, and finish the day with a game against Tiffin (DII) at 4pm.

Game format is 2 20-minute running clock halves, with a 5-10 minute halftime. Each team has 1 timeout, but the clock runs during the timeout. Also, the clock will not stop for medical timeouts. Fans should bring chairs (and umbrellas?) for seating.

Game Results from Oakland 3-way Playday

Another solid showing for the Wolverines on a gorgeous fall day at Oakland University. More details to come, but here's the scores/results:

UM vs OU: Wolverines won, 16-8

UM vs MSU: Wolverines won, 9-5.

Upcoming games on Saturday, October 8th at Oakland University:

The women travel this weekend to Rochester, MI, to play 2 games against host Oakland University, and visiting Michigan State. Michigan will play 2 in a row, opening against OU at 1pm, and following shortly against MSU at 3pm. Both games will be played on the "lower fields" on the campus of OU (campus map).

Game format is 2 30-minute running clock halves, with a 5-10 minute halftime. Each team has 1 timeout, and play will be stopped on the whistle in the last 2 minutes if the score is within 2. Fans should bring chairs for the the lower fields for seating, and should park in designated parking areas (to avoid being ticketed or towed).

Playday Results from Whittenberg (Oct. 2nd, 2011)

The women traveled to Springfield, Ohio this weekend to take on a few DII and DIII programs to kick off the fall ball season, after just one day of full team practice following a week of tryouts. The format was 4 short games, with a 25 minute running clock and no timeouts. Michigan opened against Kenyon, and managed to start the day off right, with a 6-3 win. Next up for the first of 2 back-to-back games, was Otterbein. Michigan had a nice display of scoring, and not too much action in the defensive end, finishing with a commanding 12-1 win. With only a quick break to change over the opposition's bench, the 3rd game of the day started soon after, against host, Wittenberg. The Wolverines jumped out to a nice 4-1 lead, and though Wittenberg made a late charge, the Wolverines managed to hold on, finishing on top, with a score of 4-3. The last game of the day brought Findlay, a new DII program in the area. Michigan finished the day on a strong note, with a defensive shutout, and a final score of 9-0. With a smaller team this year, and a few players missing the trip, the Wolverines had just 18 players dressed for the day. Every player played in every game, and there was a nice array of scoring coming from both veterans and new players. Next up is a 2-game day at Oakland University, against host OU, and also Michigan State -- on Saturday, October 8th.

WCLL Conference Championships:

April 16-17, Toledo, OH

Hail to the Victors! The Wolverines endured harsh Midwest conditions this past weekend in route to a WCLL Division I Conference Championship. Their victories over Ohio, Kentucky, and Pittsburgh earned the team a berth in the WCLA National Tournament this May. Rarely trailing, the women would not be denied as they battled their way to their 6th regional title since 2000. Relieved to have earned a spot in the Championship Tournament in Arizona, the team's celebration was short-lived as the women returned to practice Monday. The Wolverines will continue to work hard as they finish exams and prepare for Nationals. A season long goal was realized this past weekend, and Michigan is anxious to make the most of their postseason opportunity. Close games across the country over the weekend showed that this year's tournament pool may be more competitive than anticipated. Michigan, re-energized and committed to reaching their potential, plans to be ready for any team and any challenge the tournament may present.
