2004
Christopher Lee Rios, aka Big Punisher or Big Pun for short, was born on November 10, 1971.  After a tough childhood in the Puerto Rican area of the South Bronx, New York, Christopher Rios decided to drop out of Stevenson High School.  He fell in love with the genre of rap music and decided that it would be his lifestyle.  Pun became quite popular after making guest appearances on Fat Joe tracks.  Throughout his raps, Big Pun displayed his Latino pride.  His songs often included various Puerto Rican references and even some of the Spanish language.  He was the first Latino rapper to go multiplatinum, a huge accomplishment for the Latino community. Pun created 2 spectacular albums during his lifetime, "Capital Punishment" and "Yeeeah Baby."  A greatest hits compilation titled "Endangered Species" was put out after his death.  Unfortunately, Christopher suffered from health problems due to his rather flamboyant lifestyle which ultimately lead to his death on February 7th, 2000, weighing in at an extraordinary 698 lbs.
