About Us

Thomas Garton

Thomas is finishing up his first year at the University of Michigan’s LSA College.  By Fall 2015 Thomas will be declared as triple majoring in Biochemistry, BCN, and Biophysics.  Thomas is pursuing an M.D/Ph.D. and hopes to follow a career in medical research.  His main interest is in the nervous system and has worked at the UM in the Crosby Neurosurgery Lab for three years.  He has been published twice (as fifth and second author respectively) through his internships at this lab and is hoping to eventually broaden out his research experience to chemical research as well. In his free time, Thomas plays soccer on two teams (one an IM team and one unaffiliated with the UM), coaches a team in the soccer club MPSA Crush, plays violin, and enjoys theater.  Thomas has an older brother Andrew Garton who is graduating this year from the UM with honors (and of whom he is very proud), and a younger sister who is hoping to attend UM in the class of 2021.  He has two dogs at home who he misses very much.
