DEX members are encouraged to join one or two committees. Committee participation is an excellent way to stay involved, work with professionals, and network with other students. Members may join more than one committee. Committee work and content may change from year to year. For the latest information, please contact the leader(s) of each committee.

Finance Committee:

Finance Committee Leader: Vice President of Finance

The Finance Committee works throughout the year to raise funds for DEX through local fundraisers and official business sponsorships. With so many members who are interested in getting involved with DEX, we have many expenses that need to be covered for the implementation of our many meetings, competitions, and events. Our goal as members of the Finance Committee is to cover as many of these expenses as possible in order for more students to participate in events without any financial restraints. Members of the Finance Committee have the opportunity to refine their financial skills, network with business executives, and work as a team to positively influence the whole organization.

The Finance Committee will also work collaboratively with the Professional Development Committee and the Member Development Committee for large events that may impact DEX meetings or our members. A portion of what committee members raise may go toward personal state competition costs.

Professional Development Committee:

Professional Development Committee Leaders: Vice Presidents of Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee is a core group of 4-5 people who may work on tasks such as:
Seek corporate sponsorships from local/national businesses for DEX, working with the Finance Committee
Campus Liaison: Work with other pre-professional clubs on campus to coordinate large-scale events
Speaker Liaison: Help with anything related to the speaker(s) and the event
Hands-on Marketing Project

The committee will help coordinate meetings and events for all DEX members. Members will work directly with various business professionals to plan keynote speakers, business recruiting events, and other professional development events. The goal as members of the Professional Development Committee is to create beneficial events and business opportunities for members. Members of the Professional Development Committee have the opportunity to expand their business knowledge and refine their professional, organizational, and networking skills.

Member Development Committee:

Member Development Committee Leaders: Vice Presidents of Member Development

The Member Development Committee will help coordinate philanthropy events, social events and activities for DEX members. Members will work together to collaborate with various businesses for social events. The goal as members of the Member Development Committee is to create a social, welcoming environment for every member with events and activities at meetings. This committee is also in charge of any philanthropic activities throughout the year. Members of the Finance Committee have the opportunity to refine their teamwork, organizational, and networking skills.
