GCF encourages all students to build strong friendships during their graduate studies. In addition to the many fellowship times in GCF, there are additional opportunities to gather and coodinate gatherings:
CENTRAL CAMPUS: These are on hold for now, but if you'd like to be on the e-mail list for the lunches, please send your uniqname/e-mail address to Lindsey Selegue.
NORTH CAMPUS: Ever get stuck on desolate, lonely North Campus? Grab your lunch and join other GCFers for an informal time of fellowship! The current group meets on Wednesdays at 11:30 AM in the CS building's graduate-student lounge, BYOL (bring your own lunch). Join the "gcflunchnorthcampus" email list for reminders and time/location updates. If you have any questions, would like to join the email list, or would like to attend, but have a scheduling conflict, please contact Jim Boerkoel. Hope to see you there!
Throughout the school year, George and Mary Lindquist host a Tuesday dinner at their home that welcomes professionals and graduate students for a home-cooked meal and fellowship. For more information, check out their website.
A number of GCF members are a part of a separate e-mail (AKA Squarkoel) list designed for coordinating social events and activities (includes GCF members and non-GCF friends). If you are interested, contact Chris Wahl for more details.
A number of GCF members take part in a weekly Ultimate Frisbee game with friends in the area. All are welcome for a couple hours of fun and exercise. Play starts at 6:00 on Sundays at Mitchell Field (by UM Hospital). GCF contacts: Mark Gordon and Rachel Mathews.
