Organizations
Rotaract is lucky to work with many wonderful and impactful community organizations. Below are examples of organizations with whom we have sustained partnerships:
- 1 Carrot Way, Ann Arbor, MI 48105
- As the food rescue and food bank program serving Washtenaw County, Food Gatherers exists to alleviate hunger and eliminate its causes in our community. It serves 150 non-profit agencies and programs, providing direct food assistance in the form of hot meals, nutritious snacks or emergency groceries to low-income adults, seniors, and children in Washtenaw County.
- 7432 Brush St. Detroit, MI 48202
- MUFI seeks to engage members of the Michigan community in sustainable agriculture. Using agriculture as a platform to promote education, sustainability, and community—while simultaneously reducing socioeconomic disparity— they hope to empower urban communities.
- A student-run nonprofit at the University of Michigan, The Detroit Partnership (DP), exists to unite the people of Ann Arbor and Detroit through one-time and weekly service-learning opportunities. While working together, members of each community may experience and discuss the challenges that face humanity today. Though one program alone will not erase social issues or inequalities, a lasting partnership will perpetuate the idea that change is possible, especially when neighbors can lean on each other.
