Kudos 2004

At the 2004 Annual Banquet and Initiation Ceremony on April 28, 2004,
the following Junior and Senior High School students were honored
for their work presented at the Southeastern Michigan Science Fair in mid-March:

Senior Division

Sara Worsham (Onsted High): "Does the Type of Waste Management System Affect Water Quality Paramenters Over Time?"

Carmen Affonso (Addison High): UV-Induced Enzyme Enhancement of Catalase After Sun Induced Photoactivation

Junior Division

Patrick Sullivan (Hillsdale Academy): "This Cat Got Game?"

Makena Schultz (Onsted Middle School): "Rain Rain Go Away"

Scott Lantis (Hillsdale Academy): "Does the Starting Temperature of Water Affect the Time it Takes to Freeze?"

Timothy Luongo (Clague Middle School): "Which Wood Can Hold the Most Weight?"


The following individuals were honored for fifty years of active membership in Sigma Xi:
Major M. Ash, Leonard N. Binn, William R. Farrand, Don P. Haefner, Leonard Segel & Edward G. Voss.


Mr. Phil Zuber received the Outstanding Science and Math Teacher of the Year Award, which is sponsored by a generous donation from Pfizer Global Research and Development, Ann Arbor Laboratories

Mr Zuber was nominated by parents of students in his science class. The Chapter is very grateful to Pfizer for their ongoing financial support of this Award.
