The Caption Center
One of the largest caption companies. Site includes general Information about how they perform closed captioning today.

VITAC
Another large captioning company. Site includes FCC rules on captioning.

CaptionMax
This company specializes in captioning prerecorded videos. Provide a good overview of the caption process.

Captioning.Com
Biased but interesting discussion of voice recognition software vs. human caption-stenographers.

Rapid Text
A captioning group that provides on-site and remote captioning. Remote captioning is performed via modems.

Encoders

CPC Hardware Company
A caption encoder. Includes description of product and prices.

Norpak
The top of the line caption encoders. Norpak basically provides all of US television stations with encoders.

Ultech
A good quality encoder. Site includes description of the versatility of the encoders and price information.

Script Formation

CaptionMaker
Software that allows a user to edit text and scripts and output the correct format to an encoder.

Caption Capturing

TextGrabber
TextGrabber combines software and hardware to recapture the text stream from encoded caption streams.

Microsoft: SAMI
SAMI (Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange) is a file format for multimedia captioning specifically oriented towards captioning over the internet.
