Intranet Development and Management

This service provides professional intranet development and management support to U-M departments and units. An intranet is a secure web site that is restricted to a specified set of users who must login in order to view the site. An intranet can be used to create a single location where users can access information, archive historical information, and build community and improve communication within the organization.

We help you plan, develop, and launch your Web site. All our sites are developed using a model where we encourage your participation in decisions and demonstrate prototypes and progress throughout the project.

This service usually includes Architectural Analysis and Graphic Design.

Who we are
We're a diverse and talented team. Collectively, our skills include:

Programming (including Perl, CGI, Java, JavaScript)
    Information architecture
    Graphic design
    Database expertise
    Technical writing
    Project management
Cost
As part of the University of Michigan, Web Services is a nonprofit organization. Thus, if the actual amount is less than the estimate, you will be billed for only the time spent. Web Services charges are based on staff hourly rates.

The actual cost of a project could be less than or more than the estimate. More time could be required if the scope or complexity changes. If we are approaching the estimated cost, and it is clear that additional time will be required, we will apprise you of the situation, so that we can discuss alternative approaches.
