Many of us are familiar with them. If you are not personally involved in a Filipino organization, your parents might be or you may know of someone else in one. Why do such organizations exist? To raise political awareness? To raise awareness of a shared cultural and social identity? To raise money? Is there room for all of these reasons? This workshop intends to look critically at the purpose and importance of our Filipino organizations.
