Recently Added Applications
- UM.CourseTools Announcements
- Direct output from UM.CourseTools
- Anyone can add the mini view. If you are not a student, then you see a "No courses available" message
- Address Book
- Offered in the compose screen (if not in use); you can click a link to have an address book created for you.
- Clicking the link creates an address book mini view on the same page as your e-mail mini view
- Integrated with U-M Directory & e-mail
- Imports from typical campus e-mail clients
Steps for Adding Services
- New services don't just "pop" up
- They are announced in the my.umich updates panel
- You can add them through page customization
- They are vailable through List of Services
- They must be added to pages by customization

- New & improved!
- Defaults to The Michigan Daily
- Uses RSS format (is widely used for news on the Web)
- Includes 13 categories of news sources (Arts, Business, Entertainment, Health, International, Local, National, Politics, Science, Society, Sports, Technology, U-M)
- Includes specific newspapers and aggregations of news sources
- You can add your own preferred channels/news sources
E-mail 2 -- General
E-mail 2 is an entirely new e-mail application; it's more than just a few improvements.
- Better address book integration
- Enable "add to" functionality if address is not already in address book
- Appearance preferences
- Allow user to set size of message body text
- Choice of absolute or relative dates
- Browser detection (so information will fit on the screen no matter whether you use a Windows or Macintosh computer)
E-mail 2 -- Viewing list of messages
- Move inbox, sent-mail, postponed messages folders to top of folder list
- Implement trash-can metaphor (clicking "delete" will move the deleted message to the trash folder
- Include From:/To: fields as sort options
- Make persistent list order & number messages displayed (that means when you select how many messages to see at a time, your choice stays set until you change it)

- Make attachments more visible
- Implement printable version of message
- Enable viewing of HTML-formatted messages
- Allow user to set "next" & "previous" preferences
- Enable viewing new messages in a new window
- Develop "reply to" preferences
E-mail 2 -- Composing messages
- Include recipient's full name in "To:" field
- Create draft function
- Enable use of multiple signature files
- Add "select all"/"unselect all" functionality for message list
- Develop sending mail preferences

- Add ability to set filters
