When will my.umich.edu be available? The my.umich Web site underwent extensive testing before being released to undergraduate students in an open pilot February 20, 2001. Beta Testing (about 150 users) (Beginning November 2000) Phase 1. The beta version of my.umich included all initial services. However, authentication for e-mail was not yet implemented. E-mail testers could send mail but not access their own e-mail. Phase 2. Authentication for e-mail ws be implemented, allowing testers to access their IMAP UMICH e-mail. Phase 3. Testers will be able to access IMAP ENGIN e-mail (if they have e-mail through the College of Engineering) as well as IMAP UMICH e-mail. Pilot Testing (about 1,800 users) (Beginning January 2001) The emphasis here will be on having students try the service. Open Pilot (open to anyone at U-M who is eligible for the Basic Computing Package) (Beginning February 20, 2001) Feedback from U-M undergraduates who create their personal my.umich space and suggestions for features elicited from the broader U-M community will help the team formulate enhancements for later implementation phases.
