Birthday: Late 2010, but this is just a guess

Fighting weight: 10 pounds

Named after: It's sort of an acronym. F is for Florida, Red is for Rescued.

Aliases:  Fredster, Smelly Cat, Derf (Just don't call him "Freddie")

Known accomplices: Herbie is his BFF. Fred's nose is often a quarter-inch up Herbie's butt. No, literally. It's kind of gross.

Favorite place to sleep: He's not particular about where, but in what position. He likes to sleep with his feet up in the air. When he first climbed into my arms in that parking lot in Florida, he curled up in a ball, face toward mine, feet up in the air (he "made biscuits" on my chin). I instantly fell in love......Number 1.....Number 2

Favorite treats: catnip

We don't believe in miracles, but if we did, Fred would fall into that category. We met him while on vacation in Tampa. While at the hotel, this friendly little cat approached us each time we pulled in. Naturally we thought he wanted food, but he'd sniff the food (as if to say "I'll get to that later") and turn to us, begging to be held. Whenever I held him, he fell asleep in my arms. By the third day of this, I was hopelessly in love. I awoke at 6AM on the morning we were scheduled to leave for Orlando and went down to the parking lot. I found him and held him in my lap (he slept) for almost two hours, crying most of the time. "We can't leave him," I told Derek when I returned to the hotel room to shower. "Whatever you decide, I support you," he responded, having seen me out the window and realizing how much I was struggling. Now that's true love!

It's a great story. Several people have suggested that I write a children's book about it. i don't know if it's that good, but I told the story on Facebook with pictures, and I love to write, so I've written it here on this website in narrative form.
