More about Grandpa Arlie and Grandma Agnes:

July 1983 Have you ever seen
anyone this excited about a box fan? Well, it was the middle of July, and
they lived in an old house with no air conditioning; you'd be excited too!
Arlie passed away in June 1988, and Agnes in March
1999. Grandma suffered a stroke in 1966, before doctors knew what they
know now about strokes. Like Sharon Stone now tells us on the commercials, "Time lost is
brain lost." Well unfortunately, Felch was a long way from any hospital,
and during the time it took to get Grandma to Iron Mountain, the stroke had
taken quite a hold. She was lucky to survive. She was transported to
Green Bay, where she underwent brain surgery on July 5, 1966--her 23rd wedding
anniversary.
After many months of recovery, Gram was paralyzed on
the left side and prone to emotional outbursts, but she beat incredible odds and
lived a full and happy life for another 33 years. Arlie and Agnes both had a profound impact on all of
our lives, even those who were just little children when they died.
Grandma lived long enough to meet their first great-grandchild, Brendan. With 12 of their 14
grandkids (Bean and Scottie weren't born yet) Me and Grandma,
